No second IPL this year, informs Modi
IPL chief commissioner Lalit Modi put to rest the speculation of a second IPL this year during his speech at a packed DY Patil Stadium on Sunday night.
Modi said the IPL had caught the imagination of millions of people, both at the venues and on television. He said they were looking forward to the tournament next year.
Modi had hinted at a second IPL this year, which was not welcomed by many people, including BCCI president Sharad Pawar. Pawar said the IPL has given a golden opportunity to many young cricketers and has attracted a larger number of audience.
